This weekend we celebrated Little Man’s 2nd birthday. He loves reading books, so I decided we would do a Dr. Seuss themed party. Armed with ideas from my pinterest board and a lot of Dr. Seuss themed party supplies from amazon we spent Friday evening decorating and baking! It took us all evening, but we had a lot of fun, and Little Man was thrilled when he saw all the decor and food! Here are some pictures from the party.
My son loves cheese and tomatoes so these skewers were a huge hit with him! I thought it would be nice to have something healthy on the menu as well! The M&Ms were a sweet and fun snack to munch on before we let the kids have cake.
We bought little cat in the hat goody bags for all the kiddos. Each bag included a small tub of play dough, 2 Dr. seuss pencils, a small Dr. Seuss notebook, a sheet of cat in the hat stickers, and a small pack of washable markers. I tried to find things that the kids could enjoy for weeks to come, instead of just overwhelming them with sugar (After a sugar-filled party) and giving gifts that would be gone by the end of the day. All the kids seemed to love them!
Instead of normal party hats, we used paper ‘cat in the hat’ – hats from amazon and each child got to take one home too! They were adjustable hats so they fit all of our guests, big and small! Here is a picture of my hubby sporting one :) Isn’t he a cutie? <3

it looked like YOU had a lot of fun doing all that for Eli…congratulations Pau! and belated happy birthday to your LITTLE MAN as you refer to him. He look like he had a lot of fun too…I have a quote from Dr. Seuss for you….”The more you read, the more things you will know. The more you know, the more places you will go.” And I am sure Eli will go places someday because you imparted to him the joy of reading.
