I thought this was a really fun and simple idea, to help every one reach their health goals this year, along with cleaning and organizational goals! I had never looked at household chores as a way to stay fit, but this image and post really puts it all into perspective!
Every year, the most common goal people have is to lose weight.
Too often, people will try and lose weight at the gym and give it all they have for the first few weeks before burning out. This is not always the best way to go about it.
The simplest way is to work out doing the things you have to do anyways.
For example, every year you have to clean the gutters. Did you know you can lose 272 calories for every hour you clean the gutters? Clean the gutters once a month and you are getting a good workout and keeping your home tidy at the same time!
We have to mow the lawn on a more frequent basis than anything else, the amazing thing about mowing the lawn is that in just 15 minutes, you can burn 108 calories. In just one hour, of mowing you can lose 400 calories. If you mow your lawn once a week, that is 1,600 calories a month and if you mow your lawn from April to September, that is 9,600 calories every single spring/summer!
Go the extra mile and spend this year tackling all those home improvement projects and you could lose 238 calories (sanding a floor), 340 calories (roofing) or 238 calories (washing a fence), for one hour of work! These things have to be done anyways, so you might as well lose weight doing them,
The following illustration shows various household maintenance duties and the calories they burn for 15 minutes and 1 hour.

Paula here again! How cool is that? What wonderful motivation to do household chores, and get in shape at the same time! I’ve never thought about how many calories could be burned, or how working around the house can help keep you in shape, but it really can!
Which of these calorie-burning household chores will you try first?

Household chores and home improvements can truly be quite a challenging and active endeavor. I’ve been doing home renovations for over a month and probably burned thousands of calories. But it is important to understand that not all projects can be done DIY and that some things are better left to a professional. In my case it was the installation of a thermostat, which I entrusted to https://callheliosair.com/thermostat/installation
