I have been compensated by PediaSure Sidekicks for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.
I try not to worry too much when my kids get quirky. I know there are many stages that a child goes through in life, and a lot of the time, waiting it out can be the best option as they learn and explore the world around them.
My son went through a phase when he’d ONLY use the restroom at home. He didn’t have any accidents, this wasn’t harming anyone so I didn’t worry, just waited for it to pass.
My daughter STILL caries her favorite lovee around almost all the time. I’m told this will one day pass, but I’m not as sure about that.
Kids do lots of things that make us adults scratch our heads and wonder what they are thinking.
Some level of pickiness is normal for kids. My son will literally pick something from the store because it’s his “FAVORITE THING EVER” and by the following day he “HATES IT AND HAS NEVER LIKED IT”. Whatever, kid. I’ll wait 3 more days and he usually decides he likes it again.
A lot of general pickiness from kiddos can be solved by simply waiting it out. But other times, it’s more serious. If children aren’t getting the nutrients they need, then cute pickiness can become a problem.
My daughter has gone through stages when she was eating, but underweight. She needed to bulk up a bit and get more nutrients. In the baby stage, that meant we were sneaking powdered formula into everything she ate.
As she grew into a toddler, we turned to Pediasure Sidekicks. I love the ideas they give us on sneaky ways of incorporating more nutrients into your child’s diet, and it’s easy to find since they have it at Walmart!
In fact, you can swap water or milk with Pediasure Sidekicks in most recipes you give your kids for breakfast, lunch or dinner to give them that added boost.
Or, you can let the kids enjoy the shakes alone. My kids LOVE the shakes, but if you were in a position where you needed to give your child more than one bottle a day, getting more creative with recipe creation might be essential.
For us, we’ve found it’s a great after-school snack. My kids view it as a special treat, and don’t realize how much it’s helping them get the nutrition they need. It has 7g protein, 3g fiber*, and 25 essential vitamins and minerals for kids who are growing fine but missing key nutrients.
My favorite feature of the Pediasure Sidekicks bottle is that the lid is resealable. This means the kids can sip away at their shake while we run errands after school, OR relaxing in the living room watching cartoons if we come straight home.
It’s easy to toss in a bag to take with you on the go. If your kids are like mine, they get bored on every shopping trip, and want a snack (aka greasy fast-food). This is a great alternative to offer them.
If you’re dealing with a picky kiddo that need a few more nutrients in their diet, this can be a GREAT way to help them get the nutrition they need, while you work with them on accepting more foods into their diets.
they have some great special offers on Pediasure Sidekicks, right now, including $3 back if you’re using ibotta!
Have you ever dealt with a picky kiddo? How did you handle it?
