When we first got married our home was decorated with crappy frames from the dollar store and a mis-match bunch of furniture graciously given to us by various family members and friends.
Our “couch” was an awkward bright blue gingham print futon that didn’t quite match the deep green wall in our apartment. Our dishes were chipped and we may or may not have used tacks and push pins to hang things to our walls.
Super-duper classy stuff, but that’s how it goes when you get married at 18.
A few years ago we bought a house and since then we’ve been on a slow journey to making it look like actual adults live in our house. From painting the walls to using frames that cost more than a dollar for our photos and upgrading our furniture to stuff that matches (but is still hand-me-down), our house is starting to come together.
I am no decorating professional, but I have noticed that having gorgeous artwork on the walls can do wonders for making a space look more put-together and yes, even more “adult”.
I’ve loved Minted for a long time, and always love working with them too. I’m super excited to share that from 3/28 – 4/3 – you can take 15% off on Minted.com sitewide (excluding commissioned art and art styling services) using promo code: NINE
We like quirky things on our walls too. In the dining room we have a massive coffee sack from Brazil on the wall. In my office, I have an artistic map that I ordered from Minted.
It doesn’t stop with maps though, there are all kinds of gorgeous artwork you can buy for your home from Minted.
A few more of my favorites…
I love this clean and modern looking typewriter art – perfect for a home office!
If you love to laugh and have fun, this art print is the perfect way to use laughter in decorating!
If you didn’t go all-out by painting your walls bright colors like I did, you can add a pop of color to a room with a gorgeous framed print like this one! I love making spaces brighter!
I love that you can also get beautiful wedding gift ideas from Minted. Make sure the newlyweds in your life start out with a few items that look beautiful and grown up for their new home.
One of my favorites is the wedding vows as an art print for their home. You can use the traditional vows OR make custom art with vows they wrote themselves.
Another option is to use the happy couple’s engagement photos to make some beautiful artwork for their home.
Don’t forget to take advantage of this sale if you are working on decorating your house too OR buying gifts for friends!
