Is the cold keeping you indoors this week? I have some ideas today that will make being stuck indoors fun again! Thanks to Pop Secret for sponsoring today’s discussion.
Indoor fun is not something that comes naturally to kids. Sometimes we have to nudge them in the right direction a little bit.
We decided to build a living room fort and have some chocolate popcorn! Salt and sweet always mix together perfectly and this concoction was no different.
I used the sea salt microwaveable popcorn from Pop Secret and drizzled chocolate on top. To get the melted chocolate you can simply dump a cup or so of chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds at a time. Stirring between each 30 second melting session.
We do make tents and forts in our living room from time to time, but we wanted to do it extra special today! We made a two room fort with a “porch”. The kids were amazed!
Normally, we don’t let the kids eat outside of the dining room, so it was an extra special treat to picnic in their fort! It’s the littlest things that get them excited and make those days stuck indoors a bit less stressful.
They loved being able to climb up onto the couch to be on the “porch”. We had to snack in each room of the fort, of course!
If you want to make a fort and some yummy chocolate popcorn, be sure to snag the $1 Pop Secret coupon from the Facebook page! They even have free printouts of flags for your fort! So much fun with our #popsecretfort
When they were done snacking on their popcorn, we left the fort up for some crafts and coloring!
They were so upset when we had to undo the fort so every one could go to bed. If they were a little bit older we would have left it out and gone camping in the living room! Maybe in a year or two! I’m sure we will be making epic forts in the living room for many years to come, especially on those days when we are stuck indoors.
