I have two kids, we have so much fun playing and doing things together every day, but there is still nothing like one on one time with each of them.
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Disney Consumer Products for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
Mommy daughter time is something I will always cherish. For the longest time, my son and I would spend that quality mama/son time together, but my daughter was too young to take her turn.
I love that as she grows older, she’s developing tastes and opinions all her own. There are specific things she likes to do and play together, just the two of us!
One of her recent discoveries is Disney’s Sofia the First! It’s a show on Disney Junior about a little girl named Sofia who becomes a princess! Her ordinary days are suddenly extraordinary as she learns what it means to be a princess.
I love that when my daughter watches it she’s learning to be brave, loyal and kind, just like Princess Sofia! She goes on daring adventures and makes new friends and my little girl wants to be just like her!
When we were at Target the other day she spotted a Sofia doll and an amulet just like she wears in the show. Naturally she felt she needed both, and for once, I obliged! Those two have been well loved ever since.
In fact, we threw a little party to celebrate today day Sofia style!
Sofia helped us bake cupcakes…
and we even added purple sprinkles to the top.
My daughter was OVER THE MOON with excitement.
She talked about it all day until we got around to cupcake making time.
And then she talked about how pretty they were and how yummy all evening long. She could hardly wait for daddy to get home so she could show him what she had made.
So often I forget what that special one on one time means to each of them.
Sometimes it’s the simplest things, like taking the time to be passionate about what they are passionate about. To listen to another Sofia the First plotline explained in great 3-year-old detail.
Sometimes it’s surprising your little girl with a cupcake party “just because”.
Or picking up a new toy from Walmart, Amazon, or ToysRUs, when they aren’t expecting to hear a “yes”.
She was so excited when I told her we could get a Sofia toy and had the hardest time choosing between the musical Sofia the First Royal Dress she could wear, to the palace dollhouse, she loved all of it!
She’s been wearing her Sofia the First Musical Light-Up amulet quite a lot though and Sofia snuck into bed with her tonight.
Have you ever seen Sofia the First? Which toys from the new Just Play line would your family choose?
