I don’t know about you but we are a house full of people counting down to Star Wars Rogue One.
We ordered our tickets early so we could reserve the BEST seats and we’re all set to go on opening day. We’re pouring over every featurette, teaser and trailer released and having extensive conversations about what the new movie will offer.
I’ve already dubbed this “the prequel everyone wanted” since most were so disappointed by episodes 1-3 I think Rogue One and the other stories they are planning in this arc will add a lot of depth to the movies and the Star Wars universe itself.
It’s also been neat watching interviews with different people on set and seeing that they all have the same since of awe: “We’re doing STAR WARS”. It’s fun to know that the men and women creating the films are as big of fans as we are, and they are doing an amazing job bringing the stories to life.
From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, with Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are producing, with John Knoll and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. The story is by John Knoll and Gary Whitta, and the screenplay is by Chris Weitz and Tony Gilroy.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be in theaters everywhere on December 16 in 3D, Real D 3D and Imax 3D (sounds like a reason to go more than once to try it all the different ways, to me!).
