This time of year always seems to hold lots of baby showers. It’s a fun and exciting time and I always love attending and hosting them!
If you find yourself in the position of hosting this year, I have some tips for you so you can make it fun, and hopefully, stress free! This post has been sponsored by Dreft. They’ve partnered with Sean and Catherine Lowe to celebrate their own journey into #amazinghood. If you watched the Bachelor you’ve already seen them and you’re probably just as excited as I am to watch them become parents! They’re such an adorable couple!
But let’s get on to the baby shower hostess advice!
Most showers offer stick on name tags, since there are normally people from the mom-to-be’s different circles of friends. One way you can really help the new mom is to put a stack of envelopes by the name tag sign in. Have everyone self address an envelope so that thank-you cards can easily be mailed out after the party.
To keep people busy during the shower, provide a basket full of newborn size diapers. Pass around the diaper basket and some permanent makers. Have everyone leave some words of encouragement for the new mom on the diapers. She’ll be able to read them when she’s changing the new baby and needs a little pick me up!
Another way to make the shower extra special is to ask everyone to bring a new copy of their favorite childhood storybook, and write a new to the new baby inside. It’s a great way to build baby’s library and will create gifts that mom and baby will cherish forever!
Lastly, be sure you provide a great gift basket for the new mom! Oftentimes people get so caught up in giving adorable dresses or suits that the baby will only wear once, the new mom still has to buy a lot of essentials. I love giving less-fun but more useful baby gifts (along with a cute outfit because I just can’t resist!). Giving the new mom a bottle of Dreft baby laundry detergent can be a great way to help her stock up on some of the essentials.
In fact, Dreft is giving away a wonderful gift basket to one lucky winner on my blog! The winner will receive:
- Dreft product (Newborn, Active Baby, & Blissfuls)
- Little Me Welcome to the World Bib and Burp Set
- Little Me Giraffe Gown
- Gender Neutral Lovey

Not to be selfish but I’m hoping to win for me, my girls, and baby number 3. We have such a history of irritable skin like eczema and Dreft just treats us so wonderfully! Thanks for the chance!

My younger sister is expecting baby number 2 at any time. And this time she’s expecting a little girl! It’s hard with her being about 5 hours away. I’d love to bless her with a gift basket! Especially since her first little guy had sensitive skin. Thanks for the chance to win this for her!

I am so praying to win this amazing giveaway because the three of my girls suffer from eczema and their Pediatrician recommended me to use Dreft to wash their clothes. I’ve been using Dreft for a couple years and my daughters love the smell.
