April is child abuse prevention month.
As a survivor of abuse myself, this month is very important to me! Last year, I wrote a post sharing a bit of my story and challenging parents to teach their children about abuse. I was a homeschooled extremely sheltered little girl, and yet still ended up being abused when my dad wasn’t around to protect me.
I challenged parents to teach kids shat it looks like, what kids can do if some one is abusing them and that they have the right to speak up, even if it’s a person in authority doing the abusing. The post eventually got picked up by Blog her and many parents said they were encouraged to open up a dialogue about abuse with their kids because of it! I’d love to see that happen again this year, so that even more kids can be helped!
A blogging friend made the above image and a matching button for last year’s post, and allowed me to share it with all of you. If you’d like to show your support for Child Abuse Prevention in April, you can copy the button code below into the HTML part of your website! Although I will be posting a lot more about child abuse prevention later on in April, the button will continue to link back to the original post I did last year.
For a 250X250 size button use the code below this image:
<a href=”https://www.beautythroughimperfection.com/2013/04/01/child-abuse/” target=”_blank”><img alt=”ChildAbusePrevention250″ src=”https://www.beautythroughimperfection.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/ChildAbusePrevention250.jpg” width=”250″ height=”250″ /></a>
For a 150×150 size button use the code below this image:
<a href=”https://www.beautythroughimperfection.com/2013/04/01/child-abuse/” target=”_blank”><img alt=”ChildAbusePrevention150″ src=”https://www.beautythroughimperfection.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/ChildAbusePrevention150.jpg” width=”150″ height=”150″ /></a>
Let me know if you decide to use the button on your site this month so I can thank you! As a special thank you, bloggers who put the button on their sites will also be eligible to win a special giveaway on my site (more on that later)!!!
If the above codes do not work for you (Some are using them flawlessly, while others are having trouble) you can try the following:

God is so good! I had been praying for children who are abused lately and asking Him what I can do. Adding your button to my blog is a first step!
I added your button to my sidebar!

Hi Paula, I really appreciated this and it spurred me on to open up dialogue with my daughter (who is only 2) about how she should be treated. I tried to include the buttons and neither worked. :/ Am I the only one who has had a problem with them?
Thanks,
Georgia
p.s. I linked to you in the post you inspired on this topic.:)

I just read your post!!! It was excellent!
So glad you’ve started a dialogue with your little girl too! So important, even when they are tiny.
Hmm, You are the first to say you’ve had trouble with the button. If the code is not working for you, you could try downloading the image to your own computer and uploading it in whatever way you normally do it. :) Just right click on the image and “save to computer”.

I just updated the post, there’s another code option at the bottom if you’d like to try it! I can’t put it in a comment or it just shows the button and not the code ;)

Thanks. I pulled the one from your sidebar and it worked!

Such a great article, and such a sad story you have that needed to be told. I am amazed at your resilience!
Also, I tried adding the button to my blog and had trouble, the image wouldn’t show. =(

Thanks Katie <3
I just updated the post with another code option on the bottom if you’d like to try that one. It wouldn’t let me put the code in the comments because it showed up as the button when I tried ;)
