The other day I asked for your input on the facebook page about what I should write about. One of the things you asked for was for more about me and my personal life, so I decided to write this post for you. Feel free to visit the question on that page and cast your vote for what you would like to read about on this blog (or leave it in a comment)!
I don’t write these very much because I always feel sort of vain writing about myself, but I guess it does make things more personal too… So, since you asked, I’m going for it! I feel like I weave some personal things throughout the posts, but it can be hard to piece it all together, so hopefully this well help give you a better picture.
This is me. 23 year old from Texas. Hater of cold weather and lover of sparkly things (not sparkly vampires…just things like shirts and nail polish).
I love reading young adult dystopian novels (probably too much). If you can’t find me writing…I’m probably reading…. or chasing kiddos around, you know how it goes. I pretty much hate cooking, I wish humans could survive without eating, it would make my life about a million times easier. I don’t mind laundry or vacuuming so much, just don’t make me cook!
This is us. A little bit silly, and a lot in love.
We got married when we were both 18. The odds were definitely against us in marriage, but we’re making it and we’re thriving. I like to think that we’re a lot like my great-grandparents. They married at the age of 19, after knowing each other for only a short time, but they stayed in love until they day each of them died. My great grandfather was always making jokes and making my great grandma roll her eyes. She was stressed all the time, and yet he always found a way to put a smile on her face. We are so similar to them in all those ways, and I hope we have the time to grow old together as they did.
I’m so thankful for the family and friends that we have supporting us and helping us along the way. My husband is most definitely one of the best things that ever happened to me. He’s so patient, so loving and so nerdy. A lot of the computer related things he talks about are way beyond my comprehension, but he’s interested and passionate about those things, so I try understand.
We love playing board games together, and we’re both pretty competitive so that makes it even more fun. He’s always researching and trying to find new 2-player board games for us to try and we’ve compiled quite the list of our favorites. We have date nights OUT once or twice a month, but we try to spend intentional time together every week, even if it’s just playing board games or chatting at home.
This is Little Man. He’s feisty, he’s bossy and he’s my little love.
He would eat pop tarts for every meal if I let him, and he despises anything spicy (just like mommy). He’s pretty sure he’s the boss of everyone, and has thrown far more than his fair share of tantrums. He’s ridiculously smart (and I’m not just saying that because he’s my kid). The boy can find loopholes in pretty much any rule I make and isn’t afraid to test his limits. He’s quite the handful but oh so much fun.
He’s my little artist, loves to paint, draw and color. He has his own unique sense of style that most frequently includes cowboy boots and a cat-in-the-hat Hat. He already has his own, very vibrant personality and I’m excited to see who he becomes as he grows up.
This is the Princess. She’s bigger than I like to think she is, but still my little baby.
She’s dramatic and moody at only a year old. She loves to swing, to slide and to climb on things. I guess you could say she’s my little dare devil. She’s obsessed with her little stuffed hippo, and carries it with her everywhere. She’s pretty sure she can talk, even though most of it comes out as gibberish to us, she inflects as if she’s using real words and it’s pretty adorable.
Our days are a bit unpredictable. We try to get out of the house at least once a day, but that doesn’t always happen. Nap time happens at noon or 1pm pretty much every day. I use that time to blog and work on writing my book. My husband works 6 days a week, with only sundays off, so we try to make sunday a family day and often times we’ll go over to my in-laws for lunch and relaxation! Throughout the week we keep busy with fun little activities for the kiddos or trips to the park, and of course, looking forward to the end of the day when daddy gets home!
So there’s a little peak into our lives. I’d love to get to know you too! Leave a comment telling a bit about yourself, and how you found your way here. I love hearing from you!
