The one about whining…
Are my kids going to whine about everything today? Yes, yes they are.
The one about choosing two…
Balance eludes me most days, or maybe I’m just finding that our sweet-spot looks a bit different than I imagined. Instead of a perfectly clean home, pristine and constantly giggling children and a mom with perfect clothes and hair we sit in rooms that show evidence of playful times with the kids. My kids tantrum and they laugh and it all mixes together into a noisy yet happy chaos that envelopes our home. And I’m stuck somewhere between a laugh and a cry most days. Unsure if I should be chuckling at my child’s latest antics or groaning.
Oh motherhood and the choices it brings us. Not always the choices we are looking for, but there’s usually something good in there if you take the time to choose carefully.
The one about saying no…
Do your kids have this little “hearing challenge” too? How does the word “no” change in sound so quickly??? I HAVE NO IDEA.
The one with the t-shirt…
Chaos is not a sign of failure, it’s a sign of children
This reminder was so encouraging for people in our community of moms sharing their unedited truths, that we decided to turn it into a t-shirt! This is a fun one to wear out and about because moms and dads alike will smile in solidarity with you. It’s been a neat way to connect through the chaos.

The one about the questions…
This is how I’ve been feeling lately with my son asking me to get him his milk right now, and also his dinner and could I find his toy screwdriver? and could I possibly open the garage door so he could get his toy lawnmower out? and the floor needs swept because sis just spilled something can you GET THAT RIGHT NOW MOM! The one about sleep…
People always say that “there aren’t enough hours in the day…” I disagree. My days are just fine, it’s nighttime that could use a few extra hours.#sleepdeprivedforever #motherhood
Non-mother people have all these misconceptions about sleeping.
When you are pregnant they say “Sleep now, you’ll need it when baby comes”. Because that makes total sense. It’s super easy to sleep when I have to get up every eleven minutes to pee and my entire body aches like I have some sort of hybrid-flu situation going on. Yep, I’ll just sleep now and stock it all up in my handy “sleep bank” so I won’t be tired when I’m up with a newborn. Oh wait, I forgot…that’s not how sleep works guys.
The one about bathroom “breaks” …
As much as I may complain about having kids follow me in the bathroom all the time, I have to say it is MUCH more stressful when they don’t.
Realizing that, for a few moments, the 3 year old and the 2 year old have free reign of the house and there’s literally nothing I can do about it
The one about dinner…
We could be having his very favorite dish, he could even possibly eat three servings of it, but when bedtime rolls around the food magically flees from his stomach and he becomes ravenously hungry once again. It’s astonishing the way the body of a toddler works. I will never cease to be amazed!
