How many times a summer are you asked to bring a side dish to a barbecue, and you just can’t think of something new and unique to bring? Well this SUPER easy BLT Pasta Salad is sure to become the hit of every party you bring it to. It has a couple of secret ingredients that help make it really flavorful and delicious.
In addition to these secret ingredients (keep reading, it’s coming I promise), the crunch of the lettuce adds a really nice texture. And well, there’s bacon in it. So there’s that.
It’s very simple to make, and would even be yummy if you added chicken and avocado to make it a little more substantial. Whatever you do though, it’s sure to become a quick crowd favorite!
How to Make BLT Pasta Salad
Ingredients
8 oz Ditalini Pasta (before it’s cooked, so half a box)
6 oz Bacon (about 6 slices)
1/2 cup Mayo
1/3 cup Sour Cream
1 1/2 cups diced tomato
6 oz shredded lettuce (3/4 of a bag of store bought already shredded iceberg)
1/2 Pouch Dry Ranch Dressing mix (secret ingredient 1)
1/2 cup Crushed Croutons (secret ingredient 2)
Directions
- Start by cooking the bacon. Lay it out on a foil lined pan, and cook at 420 degrees for 18 minutes (or until crispy)
- Meanwhile, cook the Ditalini pasta per package instructions
- When you drain the pasta, run cold water over it to speed up the cooling process
- When the bacon is done, give it a rough chop
- For the croutons, you can use either make them using this recipe, or buy them from the store
- The easiest way to crush them is to put them in a bag, and roll a rolling pin over it until the croutons become crumbs
- Now you’re ready to put all your ingredients into a bowl
- Stir thoroughly to mix everything well
