Well hi there! Welcome to my little corner of the internet!!!
About Me:
My name is Paula, I’m a young wife & mama. Hubby and I got married when we were both 18 years old; we’d known each other for a whopping 35 days when we eloped and it was the best decision we ever made! We now have 2 awesomely rambunctious kiddos known here as Little Man (2.5) and the Princess (8 mos). We’re all living in a (seemingly) tiny 2 bedroom 3rd story apartment & saving for a house. I’m a stay at home mama, a blogger and an aspiring author, currently working on my first book! I love to write & I love to encourage people, which leads us to…
About the blog:
I have been writing here for over 2 years now. The heart of Beauty Through Imperfection is that we would learn to see the beauty of God’s grace through our own imperfections. I used to be obsessed with being a perfect mom, I set unattainable goals for myself and would be upset and even depressed when I couldn’t achieve perfection. I’m no longer crazy about being the perfect mom, instead I’ve learned to focus on being a loving mom and trying to be gracious in my own mistakes and use them to point my kids to Jesus. I’m not always perfect at this either ;) but I’m trying. A year ago I started a series called “Confessions of an Imperfect Mother“. It’s an encouraging series in which I share some of our not so perfect moments. I’ve confessed things like: I pretty much hate breastfeeding my babies and I’ve told you that I don’t clean my kid’s room enough and that sometimes I get sick of playing with my kiddos.
We get pretty personal around here and I like it that way. There is a huge diversity of parenting methods represented here and I enjoy that as well! We can all learn something from each other! I love the community we’re building together.
I hate cooking, so you will very rarely find recipes here, but if you are looking for encouragement, honesty, toddler friendly crafts, uplifting marriage posts, date night ideas, or even just a friend; I’m your girl!
I would love to hear from you in the comments (feel free to leave links to your blogs so I can come visit you!)
Let’s connect on Facebook (I’m most active there, we have TONS of fun on the FB page!), Twitter & of course PINTEREST!
I can’t wait to get to know all of you more!

Your little girl is adorable! My baby girl is 8 months too. We’re currently enjoying cutting our top two teeth:) I’ll be thankful when they’re in!
It’s so easy to get caught up in trying to be a perfect mom, especially if you compare yourself to what you see on social media. I remind myself of a saying I’ve seen…there is no way to be a perfect mom but a million ways to be a good one!
I’m looking forward to reading more!

I found you through the UBP. I’m glad I’m not the only mom who hates cooking. Everyone else seems to be making these wholesome, creative meals and I’m just hoping my kids will one day learn to cook so I don’t have to. haha

Such a cute post! I love the pic of you and your husband being silly.
By the way, it’s completely your fault that I was up after midnight working on my post. :) Thanks for sharing about the UBP. I hadn’t heard of it!

Your son’s shirt made me laugh – sweet little family you have. The bedrooms are never clean around here either, including mine and I have come to be okay with that. Glad to meet you, hope you are enjoying the party

Hey there! I am Brandy and am visiting from the UBP! Glad to meet you and your lovely family. I love the title of your blog. I suffer from perfectionism. And I am just like you, not a big fan of cooking. However, I do bake every once in a while. Look forward to reading and learning more here at your blog!

Hello! Boy can I relate to the “I hate breastfeeding” statement! I’ve only had one child (physically), one by adoption and I have always said that was one time in my life when my stubbornness was a very good thing. I was determined to “make it” long-term as I knew it was best for her but my husband a couple of times said I should stop because it was the most challenging thing I’ve ever done and those first 3 months were AWFUL!
So if you ever need some new recipe ideas to give a try even though cooking isn’t your thing come on over for a visit. :) My husband is a Chef and he has a gift for combining flavors and most of our recipes aren’t difficult.
Have a great last couple of UBP days! Glad to have found your blog… you have such a beautiful family.

HI! New blogger looking for some new reads so I will be following along on here, Facebook and of course Pinterest. Love your ideas of the blog and what you choose to write about. I was not one for breastfeeding either, have plenty of friends that do it, have done it and some will ramble on about it forever but it just wasnt for me. Anyways, going to go wander around a little more :)

Hi, Paula!
I’m finally making my way over here from the UBP13!
Wow, eloped, huh? I could never have done it. I’m a crazy ocd planner, I hate spontaneity. It took me 2 years to plan my wedding :)
I hate cooking too, and cleaning, but I love organizing like a freak ;)
I think the honesty is great, parenthood is hard (for most of us anyway) and we shouldn’t pretend that it isn’t. Besides, perfection is pretty boring. I’d much rather read about a kid smearing poop all over the walls rather than how someone just finished shining all of their windows in accordance with their weekly cleaning spreadsheet.
I’m following you around the ‘net a few places and looking forward to all of the imperfections :)
