I have been compensated by Johnson‘s® Baby for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.
I’ll be honest, when I had kids I got tubs of baby oil from various baby showers and I had NO IDEA what to do with it. Most baby shower gifts were self explanatory, I was expecting to receive things like diapers, wipes, clothing, powder…but oil? I didn’t even know where to begin.
Little did I know that the baby oil from Johnson‘s® Baby would be the one gift that just KEPT GIVING long after my kids left the baby stage. There’s just so much it can do!
Check out these unexpected uses for Johnson’s® Baby Oil.
Temporary tattoo removal – My kids LOVE temp tattoos. I got a real tattoo a few years ago which has made them want their own versions as well. This is adorable until your daughter has a leftover neck tattoo (yes, really) on the day the preschool class photos are being taken. It started out as Obi Wan on her neck, now it just looks like I don’t make her bathe. Baby oil saves the day!!!
Helps you clean – You know the lovely soap scum stains that end up all over the kid’s bathroom? I don’t know HOW in the world they scatter a solid layer of soap and toothpaste all over everything (yet don’t actually get anything clean), but they do. Use baby oil (put a little on a paper towel) on the faucets on the sink and shower to remove the scum and make it shine.
Bye bye bandages – Anyone who has a kiddo knows the struggle of removing a bandage from the child. Usually there are tears as you try to quickly “rip it off”. Baby oil can remove this struggle. Dab a bit of baby oil on the sticky ends of the bandage and wait a few moments. It will be able to easily slide off without a struggle.
This tip will especially come in handy if you have a kiddo with an injury in a particular sensitive area of the body.
Removing stickers – If your kiddo is still an infant you might not realize how much you will need a sticker remover in your life. Y’all. My kids have put stickers on our cars, on walls in EVERY room of our home, on my books, and on doors. They think they are being so sweet and gracious by sharing their favorite thing in the world with us. So adorbs kiddos, but yeah, I don’t necessarily need princess and superheroes all over literally everything in our home.
What I also don’t need? Those little leftover sticker marks when I try to go around peeling them off. Putting a bit of baby oil on the leftover sticker spot will allow you to remove all the stickies so you can have your wall back.
Remove rings – Pregnant mamas, this one might come in handy for you! If your hands have some swelling during pregnancy the way mine did, a bit of baby oil can help you remove your rings until after baby is born so you can be more comfortable. When this happened to me it seemed to happen overnight! Baby oil makes it so much easier to remove your ring so you can put it on a necklace or in a jewelry box until baby is born.
Cloud Dough – When your kids are old enough for sensory play, use this awesome recipe for Cloud Dough. It’s so easy to make, and one of the TWO ingredients is baby oil!!!
Have I convinced you that Johnson’s® Baby Oil is one of the most useful things for ALL of life? Run to Walmart and pick some up so you can start using it for ALL THE THINGS too!!! Check out this Pinterest board for more ideas.

Before I moved to super-humid-Houston, where I need to use much less moisturizer on my skin, I used Johnson’s baby oil on my legs and arms and it was so much better than lotion. After showering, but before toweling off, spread a few drops over dry skin. Either air dry (if your house is warm enough) or lightly towel off :) Side note – this is WAY cheaper than any lotion or moisturizer I’ve ever used since a bottle lasts for so long!
