Yesterday, we went to see Batman vs Superman in a theater by our house. I’ve seen most of the Batman movies, but not Superman, so we watched Man of Steel the night before to catch up.
I’ve been seeing lots of negative reviews, which was surprising. I enjoyed the movie! There were a few overly ridiculous scenes, but overall it was pretty darn good.
I may or may not be mildly obsessed with Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. He was brilliant and totally made the movie in my opinion. He was the most complex character in the movie and even though you didn’t see his back story played out on screen you could feel it in the way he acted, which was very well done.
The main complaint I had about the movie was that most of the other characters weren’t as deep as I would have liked. Great super powers, awesome gadgets and a good plot line, but the characters fell a little short. It’s like they rely too heavily on the epic powers of the character names that they didn’t feel the need to make them deep, multi dimensional characters.
A friend called it Batman vs Superman Dawn of Brooding Justice, and I’d say that about summed it up. Not that I expected it to be a comedy the way some Marvel shows have been, but having characters express more than one emotion (brooding) would have been nice.
Still, I enjoyed the movie and will watch it again when it comes out on DVD and proudly wear my new shirt that Zazzle sent me.
They let us pick any one we wanted…which was hard! I’m about to share some affiliate links to our favorites, and you’ll see why! My assistant (and good friend) Lexus and I had the hardest time looking through them, but we both ended up with the one that represented Wonder Woman too, because, Wonder Woman.
Batman’s armor in this movie was superb, so we were definitely tempted by the shirt showing him in his full gear. Also: That cape. The billowing capes in almost every scene slay me. What material even does that???
And then there was this vigilante wanted poster shirt that had me swooning. They have playing cards and phone cases too!
I loved this Superman image with the Bat symbol through his eyes, but they didn’t have shirts with this picture on it! The notebooks and ipad cases to make up for it though!
Catching Superman mid-fight and putting that pic on a t-shirt? I’m in. Those muscles though…
If I hadn’t gone with the Wonder Woman shirt, I probably would have done this one. Last son of Krypton and Gotham Guardian? Sign. Me. Up.
Together we fight – another one featuring all three, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Yes. Yes. YES.
There was Wonder Woman only merch too. I loved the watercolor logo!
If you aren’t seeing something you’re obsessed with here in my favorites, you can see all of their Batman Vs. Superman merchandise here. Lots more shirts, and plenty of accessories too! After seeing the movie, if there had been anything Lex Luthor I’d have snagged it! (just don’t tell Batman, k?)
Have you gone to see the movie yet? What did you think of it? Share in the comments!
