Eddie Redmayne perfectly explains what it’s like being up all night with a new baby

If you  haven’t seen him yet, Eddie Redmayne is the talented Brittish actor playing Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them.

Side note, that movie is AWESOME…go see it!!!

He’s also a new dad and when Ellen asks him the REAL questions “is she sleeping through the night?” Eddie sums up how we’ve all felt with our new babies, perfectly. You can watch their hilarious exchange in the video below.

Ellen: What’s her name?

Eddie: Her name is Iris

Ellen: And is Iris, the precious four and a half month old, sleeping?

Eddie: *laughs* Quick answer, no. Uh, no. It’s that hilarious thing where before you’re a parent you sort of hear people talking about that and then suddenly you’re the guy that’s floating in a sort of constant jetlag, with an iv of caffeine. I’ve become that person.

Ellen: But it’s worth it.

Eddie: It’s worth every bit. Because occasionally, it’s that amazing thing where it’s 3am and you go in and you’re gently furious and you get a little smile and your heart breaks a bit. And it’s totally worth it.

Basically, Eddie is ALL OF US as new parents.
