This post was sponsored by HackensackUMC, we’ll be talking about a topic we can all relate to, but the product is currently only available in New Jersey and the coupon code I share at the end is only for readers in New Jersey.
This Summer I tried to make an appointment for my daughter at the pediatrician. They told me they could see her in a month.
A MONTH.
It didn’t make any sense to me either. How could it possibly take that long to get to see my daughter’s doctor. I even asked if we could see another person at the practice and they said the earliest appointment they could give me there was 4 weeks out.
Thankfully, we weren’t in an emergency situation and I’m sure it would have been easier to get in with them if we were, but this isn’t the first difficulty I’ve had with getting to see a doctor on time. I’ve learned to call 4-6 months in advance if we need a well check and to cross my fingers REALLY HARD if I ever need to bring a child in for a sick visit.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my kid’s pediatrician—she’s amazing. Everyone at the practice is amazing, they take great care of our kids. It’s just that everyone else in our town thinks so too, and apparently we all wanna see the same doc!
I’m excited to be partnering with Hackensack Health Network to bring you today’s post, especially for my readers in New Jersey. (If you read through to the bottom I have a special coupon code to share with you!)
This week I was introduced to Convenient Care Now, an online way to connect with healthcare providers.
I downloaded and tried the app myself because I wanted to see just how it worked! I had an amazing discussion with Mia Finkelston, Primary Care.
Since I had already walked through the process of downloading the app and filling out new patient forms, I was able to see for myself just how easy and convenient this is.
I think we’ve all had those times when we couldn’t get in to see our PCP either because of scheduling conflicts, childcare, no access to a car that day and countless other reasons. I love that Convenient Care Now is there to help when you can’t see your PCP. Instead of waiting for the next opening (or a babysitter!) you can see a board certified doctor from home, on your iphone, ipad or computer!
When you log into the app it shows you a list of physicians and allows you to pick the one you’d like to talk based on who is currently online and available. You can even click on names to read more about them before making your choice.
There was very little wait time (just a few moments while she looked over my chart before she answered the call) and I was impressed with how easy and comfortable it felt, especially since I normally feel super awkward on the phone.
They are available 24/7 which I thought would be really helpful for those middle-of-the-night issues when you’re not sure if it something wait until morning or not.
They let me know that the typical issues include:
From a cost standpoint it is really helpful too, just $49 for a physician visit!
If you are in New Jersey, this is a great option for you (the physician I talked to told me they are working hard to expand to more states as well!).
For my New Jersey readers, if you sign up, use the code: CARENOW12 to get your first visit FREE!
Here’s to doctor’s visits becoming more convenient and less stressful!
