How to Make Halloween Cookies
When I think “thumbprint cookies” what comes to mind isn’t spooky. It’s more of a Christmas cookie with various jams or jellies spooned into the middle. and honestly, I feel a little iffy about jelly on a cookie.
When I discovered these halloween cookies I knew it was something my kids would love, and I was immediately on board with the chocolate myself.
If you can make cookies, you can make these Halloween treats.
If your eyeball making skills aren’t up to scratch, don’t stress. We’re going for spooky halloween so if they’re drippy or lopsided, just act like you meant for them to be a roll with it.

- Add the eggs, one at a time, and beat until incorporated.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, cocoa, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Whisk until combined.
- Add half of the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and stir until just combined. Add the remaining half and stir until all of the ingredients are wet. The batter will be thick and sticky.
