Oonies were new to us this year, but as soon as we opened the box both kids were begging me to open them so we could start playing with them!
Sure, Oonies have a silly name, but they represent a whole lot of creative fun for kids (and parents too!). I love that it provided so much open ended playtime for the kids!
Oonies come as little pellets, but you can inflate them and get started creating. We alternated giving each child a chance to inflate their Oonie, and start creating.
The Oonies stick to each other, which meant the kids had endless ideas about what they could create. We made swords, animals and even a germ diagram from my most science-y kid!
My daughter immediately was draw to the adorable little eyes and decorations that you could easily attach to the Oonies!
She was so proud of her little Christmas dragon, and immediately put him on display. He makes the perfect little ooniment for our Christmas decorations.
I was most impressed with how CLEAN the Oonies are to play with. So many things say that they are mess free or “washable” but realistically require a LOT of clean up time. These stayed clean, and didn’t leave a sticky residue anywhere (which I was concerned about).
We loved playing with Oonies, and the kids are already wanting to play with them again (and again…and again…)
This is the perfect new way to play and decorate with the kids! It encourages them to get creative and find new ways to decorate their rooms and our living room!
Have you ever tried decorating with Oonies? You can get your own here!
