This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of UPS for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
If you take the time to look around, you can find inspiration everywhere. Ordinary people taking the time to do extraordinary things for their communities and even the world around them.
I remember seeing a Facebook status in my feed a week or so ago. A dear friend collecting sweaters, scarves and hats to take downtown to distribute to those in need on her way to and from work every day. I remember seeing photos from up north where people have put jackets and scarves on trees just leaving them for some one who is feeling cold and might need to find one.
I love seeing love in action. Love isn’t convenient, it goes out of it’s way to care for some one else. From the smallest of gestures, like taking an extra 5 minutes to read another story to the kids before bed, to doing something bigger, like raising funds to build an orphanage or donating to something like toys for tots. There is always kindness that can be done and immeasurable ways that we can contribute to the world.
Have you noticed some one making a difference in your community lately? Sacrificing their time, money or possessions to help some one else. It’s beautiful to watch and I’ve found if you take the time to see it, people are doing incredible things all around us.
If some one has inspired you lately, UPS has started the UPS #WishesDelivered hashtag – this initiative is connected to the #WishesDelivered Site where you can submit stories of inspiration or even wishes for the community around you. For each wish/story shared on social media using the hashtag or submitted through the website, UPS is donating $1 to charity. This initiative is a great way to inspire people in your feed, thank those doing amazing things AND share the love even farther by helping UPS contribute to amazing charities like Toys for Tots Literacy Initiative, The Salvation Army, the UN Refugee Agency, The World Food Program and Boys and Girls Club of America.
I love that UPS encourages us to share good stories every year like this. With all the negativity and sadness in our feeds, it’s wonderful to be able to type in the #WishesDelivered hashtag on Twitter or Instagram and find something to smile about…and even ideas of what to do with your own kids and families to share the love this season.
Handmade gifts are another great way to share love, especially if you don’t have a huge budget this season, you can still spend time making these as a family and distributing to those in need, check out this amazing video for inspiration!
What’s your wish? this year, and how are you helping some one else be inspired to share love? I’d LOVE to hear your stories in the comments or on social media with the #wishesdelivered hashtag! Let’s make social media, and the world, a more beautiful place to be.
