Hey readers, I’m Molly from Just a Little Creativity, and I’m so excited to be a part of the contributor team here at Beauty Through Imperfection! I enjoy sharing creative projects and ideas that any skill level can complete, but especially those that the kiddos can be a part of. At my house, we do a lot of crafts and projects that involve paints, so we {try to remember to} use art aprons to cover our clothes. That’s why I’m sharing this easy, custom kids art apron with you today!
This project is really so unbelievably simple, you’ll be amazed. It can literally be finished in under 30 minutes.
Supplies:
- White canvas art apron in kids sizes
- Wax crayons (don’t use washables)
- Wax Paper
- Iron
First, have your child color a design onto their apron. The harder they push with their crayons, without breaking them of course, the better. For younger kids, you may add words or designs for them to color in.
When they’re finished, lay a sheet of wax paper over the colored picture.
With your iron to the cotton setting, press for 10-15 seconds over the image and wax paper. The combination of the wax paper and heat will set the crayon into the fabric.
When you’re finished with this easy apron, not only will your child stay covered and clean while they’re being creative, but you’ll have an original piece of art that your little one created on their very own, that they’ll be proud to wear!
Thank you for letting me share today, see you again soon!

Molly, this is so cute! My daughter’s Dollar Tree apron fell apart recently ( go figure :) ) so I’d love to try this on her new one. Thanks for sharing and happy to meet you here.
