This week has been full of excitement. My husband’s last day of work at his current job is today. He’ll be home at least for a few months and looking in to some other options while also helping me around the house as I continue to build my business. We are both so excited for this change, and to see what happens next.
The kids still don’t know that it’s happening and I can’t wait to see their faces as they figure it out. A few months with daddy home (and a whole Summer!) will mean priceless memories. I can’t wait!!!
This weekend, a long-time dream of mine is coming to pass as my business partner Becky and I are hosting our first blogging retreat. We’ve been taking about hosting retreats for years and I keep pinching myself trying to figure out if this is really happening in just two days!
We’re hosting it on a lake, and some incredible bloggers are coming. Some are old friends and others we’ve been wanting to meet for a long time. It will be incredible to see it all come together.
Also in blog news? I just signed a contract with an agency in China that is seeking a publisher for one of my books. I’ve been waiting to say anything until I got the contract back from them, but they signed! Now they have started the translation process, putting my book into Chinese and pitching publishers. So now we just wait to see if/when they land a publisher there. Surreal.
The kids got to watch their very first movie in a movie theater last weekend, and have been regularly asking to go back and watch it again. Safe to say we have some movie theater fans on our hands! I was nervous to take them since I wasn’t sure how they would react to the dark theater and loud noises, but they both LOVED it! Now we just wait for Finding Dory to come out and we’ll be right back there with the kids again.
Though, my husband is waiting for Captain America: Civil War. The new trailer just came out, have you seen it yet?
So. Excited. Are you #teamcap or #teamironman? We’re with the Captain 100% at our house (thankfully no civil war between my husband and I over this one!). You can preorder tickets for the May 6th release here.
Excitement, chaos, changes. Everything seems to be happening so fast.
My husband’s birthday is today, and mine is three weeks away. I have a book to format into a paperback and another one to start writing (hoping to release it in April…youch!)
I said it in a newsletter a few weeks back, change is the one constant in our lives. The only thing we can count on to not change…is the fact that life is constantly changing. Transitions come with every breath and we’re always stuck trying to catch up.
Good changes, and bad ones. It’s all just a furious game of keeping up.
I love this about life and also hate it. I find myself being trapped in a whirlwind of busyness that I’ve created for myself. I’ll feel stressed, and overwhelmed, and yet, this is exactly what I want for my life. Just with a little less stress (a little more coffee would be okay too).
Life is interesting and beautiful and amazing.
It’s been a wild week so far. And I have a feeling that next week will be even crazier as we figure out life with me working fulltime doing what I love and my husband home for awhile. It’s a wonderful change. A welcome one, and it’s flinging us into a new and wild adventure!

Congratulations on your husband being home! That is so exciting for your family. The kids are going to LOVE it! We also had a few changes this past week – an upcoming new job for hubs that ensures he has the summer OFF! This is the first time EVER that he has had a summer off in over a decade, so we’re both pretty excited. :) Good luck on your new adventure, and have fun at the blog conference this weekend. I’m sure it’ll be amazing!!
