This is something I did shortly after baby girl was born, and I am SO GLAD that I did it! :)
It’s hard to find the energy to get things like this done with a newborn, but I made myself work on it a little every day before we napped and got several done! (enough for me, and the grandparents!)
I did Little Man’s prints first and let them dry. I knew he would wiggle more, and could potentially mess up a page that baby girl had already printed. I knew I needed 4 copies so I had him do 6 pages (this took two painting sessions) just in case she messed some up or I misprinted something later.
I then added the baby’s feet prints while he was napping. There’s no way I could do this with both of them at the same time, so it ended up being 4 or 5 painting sessions before we finished them all.
But so worth it.
I used card stock paper because it takes finger paints better than regular paper.
I always use crayola brand washable finger paints because it comes of SO EASY. Little Man has a tendency to get paint everywhere when we do crafts, but cleanup never takes more than a few minutes. Love it!
It is not the fanciest way to commemorate their sizes, but at the time, I didn’t have the energy for anything more than this. This was simple to do and only took 5 minutes or so per session. If you only made one I can’t imagine it would take more than that to get both sets of prints.
Yay for memories <3
Have you done any similar crafts with your kids? Or are you planning any? I would love to hear about them!!!
