We’ve had about a week of cold weather here in Texas and I’m already over it. I’m finding myself staring at the weather in Daytona Beach… it’s 76 degrees there at 11:30pm. Which is basically perfect. Warm Holiday Fun is the best holiday fun..
Just look at this video and tell me it doesn’t look like the best!!! The warmth, the sun, the sand, the history…. It all adds up to the perfect getaway with your family.
We visited Daytona Beach when I was a kid, and I remember thinking how cool it was that there were areas of the beach you can drive your car on. It’s a neat way to experience the beach on the first day you arrive without getting everyone wet or covered in sand for only an hour or so of playtime.
After spending time on the beach, playing in the waves or driving down it to see the sites, there is a lot more to see and do in Daytona Beach, making it the perfect Fall Beach Escape. I’ve been to Daytona Beach, and I am ready to go back!
If you haven’t been yet, or if you’ve been but forgotten about some of the amazing things Daytona Beach has to offer, let me remind you.
I know one of the first stops on a Daytona Beach trip would have to be the Angell & Phelps Chocolate factory tour. These chocolates have been a Daytona Beach tradition since 1925. They now have a 30-minute guided tour through their factory and they teach people how the chocolates are made. Yummy and educational!!
Zoom Air Adventure park is another must-see at Daytona Beach. You’ll climb and zip through the trees on the huge outdoor course. There are 12 zip lines and lots more to see and discover.
Next, be sure to see the Ponce de Leon Lighthouse. It is the tallest in Florida and boasts 203 steps to the top. Quite a hike to get there but worth every step for the view and experience with your family!
If you want to take a scenic drive be sure to check out Ormond Scenic Loop. Motorcyclists from all over the world come to Daytona Beach just to drive on this 30 mile stretch of road. With it’s diverse scenery, boasting unobstructed views of creeks, marshes, rivers, beach and even the hardwood hammock forest that canopies the road, it’s no wonder people come to town just to drive these 30 gorgeous miles!
Lastly, be sure to spend time on Daytona Beach’s pier and boardwalk. They are fun to walk down with family and have some tasty restaurants to try out as well. It makes the perfect evening adventure after a long day sunbathing or swimming with the kids.
Fall and Winter getaways can be the best with your families. You won’t be fighting as many crowds, so standing in lines for fun activities won’t require quite as much patience from the kids. You’ll also get the pleasure of posting pictures on Facebook of you sunbathing and building sand castles with the kids, while your friends are fighting ice on their cars and trying to maneuver through snow.
Forget the cold, and snow and freezing rain…go soak up some sun at Daytona Beach with these awesome Weekday Getaway Deals!
