Are you stuck trying to potty train your child? It is arguably one of the most challenging stages of early parenting. Such a simple thing…using the toilet, yet convince a miniature version of yourself to do it is just about impossible. Which is why you should call on Darth Vader. He can do it for you, and so much faster! (This post has affiliate links)
This is one of the easiest ways to potty train a child, simply because you leave the work up to him (and your kiddo). I used this method with my daughter, although her teacher of choice was her beloved Olaf, the principle remains the same. Within 24 hours she was trained and only had 3 accidents. Ever.
To use the Sith Lord for potty training, simply buy some awesome Star Wars underwear. When it arrives call your child over to have a talk.
Let them see how cool the underwear is, and then explain how much Darth Vader hates to be wet. It messes up his mask, it irritates him, whatever they will understand. Explain that they MUST keep Darth Vader dry and clean at all times.
Then simply remove their diaper, put them in their new galactic underpants and they will take care of the rest!
The thought of upsetting or offending their favorite character is enough incentive to remind them to stay dry and run to the potty when they need to go.
When we tried this method with my daughter I was at the end of my rope. We’d tried seemingly every other potty training method out there, and nothing had worked for her. But this was something she understood. It just clicked and she literally potty trained herself the very same day we put the new underwear on her. It was so simple I had to share.
If you are gearing up for a break from preschool over the holidays, then this is one way you can put that break to good use, by letting Darth Vader potty train your child before christmas! He can do it!
Or…if you think I’m crazy and you’d never let a fictional character potty train your child, then you should check out this book written by my friend. She has four kids and this method worked brilliantly on all of them. I’ve seen it happen in other friend’s homes as well so I know it’s a solid approach. If Olaf doesn’t work for you try potty training in a weekend!
