Before receiving the opportunity to do this post, I had never heard of Glinda Bridgforth or her book “Girl, get your money straight”, but, as a frugal person who is always looking for money saving tips, I was intrigued! I looked into it more onilne, and even previewed the book on amazon, and it looks like a great resource for people just getting started with budgeting!
One thing I found particularly useful, was the free download on the Kmart website for the budget spreadsheet. My husband created a similar spreadsheet for our family when we first started budgeting and it has been so helpful! They did the hard part in creating the algorithms to make the sheet useful, all you have to do is customize it with your own income and expenses! So handy! Click here to see where you can get yours! (After you click the link, push the “get started” link in the sidebar and you’ll see the download option for the template!)
Many of you know that we’ve been working hard and saving money for a long time, putting all our pennies away for a house. I’m so excited to share, that we are getting very close to our goal! It’s wonderful to see the end in site, and to think about one day having a yard for our kids to play in and enough bedrooms to go around!
If you are just getting started budgeting, or you need some encouragement to keep going, this little campaign might be just the thing you are needing to help you reach your goals! You can check it out here: Share the Word
How do you keep your budget straight? Do you do it online, on a spreadsheet, with the envelope/cash method, or something else? Share your tips in the comments!

I couldn’t find the free download on the Kmart website for the budget spreadsheet. Any thoughts on where it is exactly? Thanks!
