Sweeping/Mopping Robot– I’m not even kidding. These things are real, and they are AMAZING. Every new mom needs one, so that she doesn’t have to worry about sweeping and mopping, she can just cuddle that new baby! There’s a reason this is at the top of the list…all new moms need more TIME, and this little guy gives it to them! I’ve used one and I. Love. It.
Mom’s One Line a Day: A Five-Year Memory Book– This is a 5 year journal, and provides enough room, just for a sentence or two each day. New mamas don’t have much time, but usually theres a few seconds to spare to journal a bit about the day. This notebook takes all the pressure off, since you don’t have to write paragraphs about how the day went. Just a simple line documenting milestones, or feelings for 5 years! Would make a wonderful keepsake for her to be able to look back on her first few years of motherhood when her babies are grown.
The Portable Pediatrician– This book talks about virtually every sickness and symptom a child can have in it’s life, from birth to adulthood! It is a fantastic tool for new moms because it lets you know which symptoms need urgent attention from a Dr. or hospital and which ones can be treated at home for awhile. This is a book I really enjoyed as a new mom. Although I don’t agree with Dr. Sears on everything (CIO mainly), it was a wonderful resource to be able to look up any symptom my baby had and not have to scare myself by searching for answers online or waste lots of money on dr. bills when we really didn’t need to go in to the dr. I highly recommend it!
A Teething Necklace
– These are adorable and useful! The baby can play with it while eating, or even chew on it throughout the day. It is nice because babies always try to grab and chew a mother’s jewelry, so having something that is made for chewing and grabbing is super convenient. There are plenty of color options too!
Good Mom’s Sign – This is the perfect way to give a new mama some extra encouragement – EVERYDAY! Reminding her that she doesn’t have to be perfect at everything, she just needs to love her kids well. It’s small and neutral colored so it would match with the decor of almost any room!
An ERGO – This is by far the best baby carrier I’ve ever used. It fits like a backpack and distributes the weight of the baby so that it’s not all on your shoulders. You can carry the baby on the front or back, and it’s really easy to put on. I’ve tried plenty, of different types of carriers and this is the one I always used. It’s a bit pricey, but well worth the price if you can afford it and want to give the new mama a fantastic gift!
Nursing Pillow – These are really handy to use when feeding baby, or to let him/her recline on during the day. My son slept with his until he was two years old. Super comfy and there are so many ways to use them! You can get a free one with the code above (just pay shipping!).
Carseat Canopy – This is another fun code for a FREE canopy (you just pay shipping). Click on the image to go choose one, they come in a lot of pretty colors. The canopy protects the baby from bad weather and bright lights. They can be really handy, especially when baby falls asleep in the carseat.
Sling – This also comes in loads of fun colors, so you can choose one that fits the mom’s personality or wardrobe. If you can’t afford the ERGO, this is another fun choice! Especially since it’s FREE when you use the code above (just pay shipping).
What gift ideas do you have for new moms? Maybe I’ll add them to the list!
