We live in an apartment right now, but we still have home repairs from time to time on our apartment. I am the type that would just call the maintenance people over every little thing or just ignore it. But my husband loves to learn new things, so he usually tries to figure out how to fix things without calling in our maintenance workers to help.
I’m not surprised that so many people put off home repairs! They can be hard to do and it seems so expensive and risky to hire some one to do work for you. DIY Home Repairs is a site that has tons of tips for home owners, sharing how to do a lot of work on the house without hiring outside help. Click the image below to check out their DIY blog.
Recently, my husband realized that it would be helpful if Little Man had a stool for using in the bathroom to wash his hands. Instead of going out and buying one, he went out and bought wood to make his own! Little Man loves the stool and has been begging to wash his hands multiple times a day. In fact, he stood in the bathroom for 20 minutes yesterday washing his hands because he was so thrilled with the stool that daddy had made him and how tall he feels when he stands on it!
One day, when we do get a house, I’m sure we will do many of the home repair ourselves. With great tools like Pinterest, Google and sites like the DIY Home Repair page I’m sharing today, the average person is able to learn skills that previously wouldn’t be available to them! The wonders of the internet!!!
What about you. Do you do home repairs yourself or hire some one to do it for you?
