I was really excited when I was given the opportunity to review the Philips Sonicare PowerUp toothbrush! I’ve never used an electric toothbrush before, so I thought it would be a great time to try one. I have to be honest. I love it.
I have been using my new toothbrush for a month now and it’s amazing the difference I can feel in my teeth. The toothbrush advertises that it provides “A month’s worth of brush strokes in a day” which I think is absolutely awesome. Maybe this can help me catch up for all the times that I skipped teeth brushings as a kid.
Another great feature of the toothbrush is that it has a built in timer. When you turn it on, it stays on until 2 minutes have passed. What surprised me, is that apparently I haven’t been brushing my teeth for long enough before now. 2 minutes is a long time! But I’m really glad to know that I need to be doing it longer, especially since I’m teaching my kids how to brush their teeth, and for how long. I want to make sure I help them form good habits now and, surprisingly enough, my new toothbrush is helping me do just that!
Little Man loves that my new brush makes noise, he has even started making a little motorized sound while he brushes his teeth now, and he’s definitely following my lead and brushing for longer each time.
I watched their video on the Sonicare Facebook page about the evolution of the toothbrush, and it was really neat! I was impressed with the video quality as the guy in the shot morphed through time…you seriously have to go watch it, it’s really impressive! But the point they were making is a good one too, it’s time to upgrade our toothbrushes! Thankfully, they are actually making it affordable to do so, because each PowerUp toothbrush can be found at walmart for less that $20. I’m a pretty budget conscious person, but I definitely think it is worth the money and I plan to keep buying refills and using my PowerUp toothbrush long after this campaign is over.
Here’s my before and after shots – after one month using my new Philipps Sonicare PowerUp toothbrush! My teeth definitely feel cleaner, and I can notice a huge difference if I ever accidentaly use my regular/manual toothbrush early in the morning. I did this one time and my teeth felt yucky all day! Never again!!!

I have used an electric tooth brush for a while, but not the sonic one. I also have one for my son. I figured that if I got him one that already moves it will brush his teeth better than just having a manual toothbrush in his mouth. He isn’t very good at moving it around himself yet. so i though I would cheat a bit.

I used to have an old-school electric toothbrush when I was younger, but I haven’t tried one since then. I’d really like to try it again! Plus, I like that it goes off after 2 minutes to teach kids how long they need to brush their teeth. :)

My daughter tried this and had great results. I myself have never tried it. In the past, we used a more expensive electric toothbrush but it didn’t last too long. Love to give it a try.

So great reading about your experience. That is so cute that your son now makes a motorized sound when he’s brushing his teeth!! I have no doubts that I’m not brushing long enough either…a 2 minute timer is an awesome feature! #client
