It’s hard to keep kids from going stir crazy when we’re stuck indoors! When they are at school and the weather is bad, there is still a big gym or cafeteria for them to run and exercise. At home…we’ve got the living room.
I’ve always been one of those moms who allows (and even encourages) kids to run in the house and have fun but there’s just not a lot of space for running and playing.
We came up with a fun little game to play on days when we’re stuck indoors. All you need is this printable and a pair of dice!
There are two fun sheets to print out. If you have dice of two different colors, that will help. We used a black dice for sheet one and a white dice for sheet two.
Each child has a chance to roll the dice. Then they match the numbers on the dice to the numbers on their sheet to get their instructions. It can end up really silly like “jog in place while making fish faces” or “crawl on your belly while singing a song”.
On this turn, she got jumping jacks while spelling her name. My daughter is only four, so this is one of the more challenging tasks for her, but trying to remember how to spell her name WHILE doing jumping jacks makes practice fun!
That smiling face says it all! This is a fun way to keep the kids moving, even when stuck inside.
You can download the game for free here. Then you just need to print it out and grab a pair of dice and your kids an start playing right away.
