I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Playskool. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
I never realized how much waiting I do in a typical week…until I had kids. We’re waiting for our turn in line at the grocery store. Waiting at the Dr’s office. Waiting to pick up brother from school. Waiting in the car to get to a friend’s house. My life is filled with waiting and little ones are not very skilled wait-ers.
Over the years I’ve learned to get quite creative during periods of stillness.
For my littlest ones I found that singing songs helps a lot. Each child has a favorite song and we can usually get a sing-along going if I try hard enough. Now I know you might be thinking that other patrons of the grocery store might not appreciate our songs, but I look at it like this, our songs might not be perfect, but it’s certainly better than a fussing toddler. If they take the time to think about it, I’m sure they’d agree with me!
When my kids were obsessed with a certain book, there were also days that I would recite the book to them from memory as we drove in the car. I didn’t intentionally commit their books to memory, but when you read the same rhyming book multiple times a day, you just can’t help it! I can still quote most Dr Seuss books word-for-word!
PlaySkool has launched a new line of on-the-go toys that are perfect for every waiting situation that you might have with your kids. They easily fold up into your purse, or even jacket pocket so you can pull them out in a moment of need and your child has something fun and colorful to play with. My kids faces light up as soon as they see the toys!
My daughter fell in love with the Dressy Kids doll, and I love that it easily attaches to whatever bag I’m carrying that day, making it easy to keep the doll around!
The Stack ‘n Stow cups were a huge hit with my son. This folds down so small, but is super fun for the kids to play with while they are waiting or on a trip.
They also have a Fold ‘n Go Elephant toy. This is great for tummy time! It lies flat for sensory playtime but then folds up super-small so you can take it with you when you go!
The pop up shape sorter again folds down super flat but allows your child to work the puzzle wherever you might be waiting (or stuck in traffic). My son was also really excited about the Roll ‘n Gears car toy. Let baby roll this one around and learn how cars and gears work! Lots of fun to be had with this brilliant little toy.
Having toys you can take with you on the go is just plain brilliant. Tuck them away and maybe you won’t be stuck singing nursery rhymes or quoting books at all hours of the day. Be sure to follow Playskool on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram so you can be the first to know when they come out with new #PlaySkoolOntheGo toys!
