Ack! It’s the holiday season already! Thanksgiving is in just a few days and it feels like Christmas will be arriving approximately five minutes later! This season seems to be going by quicker than normal, and I’m barely keeping my head above water.
What? We’re supposed to have gifts wrapped and ready… as in, I was supposed to buy presents for people? oops!
What? Thanksgiving is basically here and I haven’t bought anything for dinner yet?
What? You people expect me to continue doing simple things like laundry and cooking dinner while I’m also juggling holidays, preschool and the wrangling of my toddlers?
WHAT?!?!??!?!
I think that word pretty much covers how I’m feeling about life lately. Wait…what?
Which is why I’m thankful that El Pollo Loco has agreed to team up with me for this awesome post. All opinions are mine, as always! All the awesome food is theirs. (Also as always… have I told you how many fires I’ve accidentally started in my kitchen??)
So listen, if you are like me, and feeling a big huge WHAT??? about this entire season. Maybe hoping for a re-do… or at least a big nap. I’ve got you covered. Well, no I don’t. If you were counting on me your kitchen might just catch on fire and your laundry would probably be mildewing in the washer or in a tired pile waiting to be folded. So we can agree you probably will do better without physical help from me. But I do have a suggestion. More than a suggestion. Basically a sanity-saving little gem of information I’ve been hiding.
Guilt-free food that you don’t have to cook. I’m saying free of all guilt. Because it’s affordable (yay!) and healthy (double yay!).
Seriously, if you have an El Pollo Loco anywhere near you, you need to RUN out and get them to help you through this season of “wait…WHAT-ness”. (Yes, I’m making up words now. That’s how desperate this season as made me!).
Really and truly though my friends. Their chicken had me RAVING about it the first time I tried it. As in, I called a friend and told her how good it was. I basically never have that reaction to food. It’s just food. I’d be thrilled if humans could survive without eating (my life would be so much easier!)… but since we can’t I’m glad I have family-friendly HEALTHY and affordable places like El Pollo Loco to fall back on. Because my goodness this holiday season is not for wimps.
It’s also not meant to be done alone or with stress up to your ears. Sometimes we just need to go “you know what every one, I can’t handle this…let’s go eat some slow grilled citrus marinated chicken”.
They have an under 500 calorie menu that actually tastes good (save your calories for thanksgiving!)… gluten free options and just general awesomeness. For reals. If you are trying to figure out if there is one near you…just click here. If there is NOT one near you… let’s do something fun! Go to their Facebook page, tell them I sent you and that you REALLY need to have their chicken at a location near you ASAP! You never know, they just might build a location just for you (and your neighbors, of course)!
Is this season overwhelming you too? What is your secret to settling down and having a quiet stress free evening? Does it involve no cooking and the best chicken ever like mine does?
