Long after potty training is done, some kids still struggle with potty training through the night.
These are some tips that can help make that final leg of toilet training a bit easier. Thanks to QuickZip sheets for sponsoring our discussion today! I can’t wait to tell you more about them. Also, this post contains affiliate links.
No Nighttime Drinks – Don’t leave cups or bottles in their beds anymore. Depending on bedtime you could have a no liquids after dinner rule. At our house, we still let them drink in the evenings but limit it a bit more and allow “one last drink” before bed so they don’t take any cups to bed anymore.
No Shaming – Wetting the bed is something many kids struggle with long after they’ve been potty trained. It’s important not to shame them into not wetting the bed! Stress is one thing that can make nighttime accidents worse so making them feel guilty or ashamed for wetting can be counterproductive.
Yes Diapers – Even if a child is completely dry throughout the day, it can be less stressful on every one if you allow the toddler to wear diapers at night until they are consistently dry most of the time.
Quick Zip – This is one thing that makes the entire process easier for everyone! QuickZip makes sheets for mattresses from crib size on up to full size! When you get your sheets you put them on the mattress like you would normally. They have extra thick elastic so this is easier to do than regular sheets and also stays on snug! Then, if your child wets in the middle of the night you can simple zip off the top portion of the sheet, leaving the base, then zip a clean sheet on and your child can go straight back to bed! This makes it so much easier. Another benefit is that even little ones can help with the zipper and help clean up the dirty sheets after they’ve had an accident. So helpful!
We’ve found these are so easy to use, and you can even get waterproof pads to use with them! I’m quickly falling in love with this product and I thought you just might too!
