Last week I had the priviledge of interviewing my friend Kathryn (from Singing through the rain) about her life as a military wife. She put together our interview and posted it as a blog on her page. I REALLY encourage you to go check out her blog, and specifically this post, especially if you know any one in the military.
It was really eye – opening to me, reading her responses to my questions. I had never thought of so many things that she brings up, or seen it from her perspective.
It is a wonderful post, even if you don’t’ personally know any military families, I would encrourage you to read what she wrote, and take a few minutes to pray for Kathryn and other military wives like her, that don’t have their hubbies by their side right now. And of course, pray for their spouses!!! People often remember to “pray for our troops”, but it is also important to remember to pray for the families of those troops, the ones who are standing strong for their soldiers, and supporting them, and keeping them going through their long deployments! These precious families all need our prayers, weather they are our personal friends, blogging friends or strangers! :)
I learned so much from reading her answers and it really gave me a lot of directions to pray for her, and other military families, and how to be a support and show her love while her hubby is deployed!
A few things that are addressed in the post (by Kathryn, and some of her military-wife friends)
How you can help and show support to a military wife during her hubby’s deployment (even if you live far away!)
Things that are helpful and NOT helpful to say to a military wife
How to show support to the soldiers
And of course, a lot of words straight from Kathryn’s heart and the heart of other military wives!!! It was a very touching post! I know it changed my perspective on military life, and made me think about all the families of those currently deployed…
Ok, enough from me, check out Kathryn’s post here
If you are looking for encouragement and a wonderful blog to read, look no further than Kathryn’s blog. She is honest and real about her life and struggles, and her hope in God. It is incredibly refreshing to read her blog, and follow her FB page. Every day she posts something uplifting, even if it is just a Bible verse or a picture. You will be encouraged by her light! ;)
Above all don’t forget to PRAY for Kathryn, her husband Jon (who is currently deployed), their son Adam, and the 1,000s of military men, women and families that we don’t know by name.
*Regardless of weather or not you agree with the war, these men and women need our prayers for strength, hope, patience and endurance. And they need our encouragement! Don’t let your political views keep you from supporting these families and lifting them up to God in prayer!

Thank you so much Paula, I really appreciate those prayers and I know so many others do too. Even those who are not saved, when they are in these situations, I have found it is the best time to share the gospel and to tell them I am praying for them because they are open to it since they are going through such a hard time.
Thank you so much for coming up with those questions, I don’t think I would’ve been able to start from scratch, but your questions let me to remember everything I wanted to say! :)

Yes, we do need to pray for all our military and their families. Freedom isn’t free for any of us. Thanks for the reminder.
