Welcome to the hall of shame – things I used to pin and images I thought were perfectly fine ways to represent my blog and brand on social media.
Sure, it’s embarrassing, but it’s also a little bit fun to see how things have changed and remember where I started all those years ago. I had forgotten about a lot of these!
Why yes, yes I did think that taking a picture of the leg of my jeans would make a cool background for a photo.
Also pinning a tiny horizontal pin is a great life choice.
Once upon a time, Paula was scared to use stock photography. So Paula created really weird images like the one above, didn’t optimize them for sharing ANYWHERE and wondered why her blog wasn’t growing.
This post actually ended up being one of my most popular at the time. Let that sink in for a minute. some how THIS got people to my blog, because the other things I had to offer were so unappealing.
Actual size and quality of image I thought would make a great ‘feature’ image. Paula’s blog circa 2011. Oh and I also put emojis in every post ;)
Then I started giving blog advice…with pictures that looked like this. At lEaSt I LeArNeD tHaT pInTeReST LiKeS vErTiClE ImAgEs?
Friends, no matter where you are in your blogging journey, be encouraged! We all have things that we look back on and cringe a little. Just don’t let your cringe-worthy moments get you down.
All of these things were embarrassing enough to make me stop blogging. All the days that I stared at google analytics with zero pageviews were enough to make me stop. But I didn’t stop. I continued creating things that weren’t great. I continued learning and growing about myself, my business and the way I wanted to blog.
And now I’m about to being doing this as our family’s only income for TWO years straight.
Take the time to grow.
Never get discouraged where you are…just keep going!!!
If you need a little help along the way, a friend and I created the resource that I wish I would have had when I was creating those cRaZy blog images – The Profitable Blogging Framework.
The Framework is a collection of trainings in EVERY area of blogging. From making better images (thankfully) to getting more pageviews (yay!) to writing books, creating products, working with brands, creating a stable income and so much more!
Right now through January 1st the framework is 30% off if you use the code: newyear at checkout.
Get the Profitable Blogging Framework here, so you can avoid some of the craaaazy mistakes I’ve made over the last 12 years of blogging. I’m excited to watch your blog grow!!!
