Do you need help relaxing during the holidays?
November has arrived, and with it the beginnings of endless party plans, cookie swaps, menus to plan, gifts to buy … the list goes on and on, doesn’t it?
I love this time of year, but I have seen how quickly I am swept up in it all and become one stressed lady. But this season, I am determined to be more relaxed. Here are a few tips that I think will make this season less stressful and more cheerful!
– Plan Ahead: I am starting now with my little notebook, making lists of what to buy, what I will make, menus, etc. Then I am working on one thing at a time. Working on one thing at a time is essential, otherwise my notebook becomes just another reason to stress.
– Limit Our Plans: Do we really need to say yes to everything? It is tempting … But let’s be realistic with ourselves and ask some basic questions. Will this commitment send us over the edge? Do we really have time for this? If it will be too much and it’s okay to say no, let’s say no.
– Keep It Simple: It’s easy to get drawn into the magic of the season when Pinterest is filled with hundreds of DIY projects and gifts, but let’s keep things simple and under control. Perhaps I’ll pick out one craft to do with the kids and one decor project for the house. The kids really want our time, not our elaborate projects.
– Enlist Help: Do you find yourself running all the errands, wrapping gifts, baking, etc?? Then it’s time to get the family in on the fun! It may take a little more time, but have the kids help you with the baking. Last year I took my oldest with me to get a few gifts and it was a great opportunity to teach him about giving! Make a date of it! Wrap gifts with your husband one evening and watch a Christmas movie. Even if your helpers aren’t the most helpful in the world, having someone beside you can turn a stressful task into a special memory.
Don’t get so busy! You’ll loose sight of the real reason for Christmas. This is a beautiful time of year, so let’s commit to slow down and enjoy every moment.

Another thing to add is switch your phone off or divert your number cause no matter what you do to relax the first thing that ruin it up would be your phone.
