Summer is one of the best times of the year! It’s a great time to connect with your family and your kids in a deeper way. It gives us so much extra time to be together, even if it’s just for family meals or a couple day trips during the weekend. It’s so nice to not have to think about sending the kids to school when the weekend is over!
One of the most fun things to do together, is learn a new skill or hobby.
This Summer we have decided to do fishing! My husband and I have not done much fishing ourselves in the past, but our older son has been expressing some interest in it lately, so we decided we should go ahead and take him fishing in the ponds and lakes new our home.
When we were getting ready to go, we immediately started with our Shakespeare fishing poles and worked on our fishing checklist from there. The great thing about the Shakespeare fishing combo is that the poles come pre spooled with Stren fishing line and includes fishing hooks and bait! I love that they take all the guess work out of it for us, so we can get to the fun stuff with our little ones, without worrying about spooling the fishing line or choosing bait.
I love that this is a special way to create memories with my kids. My husband and I have been talking about the concept of creating memories and giving those to our children as gifts, instead of just buying a new toy every other week. Instead, we want to invest in tools and equipment that will mean more time spent together! Our kids LOVE fishing now, and my husband and I adore spending time with them and seeing them smile as they re-tell their best fishing stories!!!
Does your family have a favorite Summer memory that you are building together? If you are joining us on our Summer fishing fun, you HAVE to check out Shakespeare and enter the fun Stren drop a line contest! Submit a photo of you fishing and tell a fun fishing story for a fun chance to win a fishing trip with a friend!
Let’s make this a fun Summer connecting with our kids!
