Quiet
A word that has become almost foreign to me in the 3 months since Princess was born. My days are filled with made up songs sung as loudly as my two year old can manage, and precious baby coos from the little princess. It’s noisy, it’s happy, and I’m loving it.
Of course there are other noises too. There are the times when both kiddos are screaming as loudly as possible, vying for my attention while I’m making dinner. Though even in those moments I don’t find myself longing for quiet, as much as I long for “happy noise”. The joy-filled exclamations of my son as he figures something out. His giggles as he plays or makes up a joke that could only ever be funny if you are under the age of 5.
Such joy has filled my home of late. And with it came noise. We have our noise-less hours. A few precious moments in the evening when both babies are asleep and hubby and I can talk and enjoy each other’s company. But for the most part “quiet” is a term becoming obsolete in my home. It’s a thing of the past! And that’s okay with me.
My daily “quiet time” reading the Bible is usually spent with my baby laying next to me. Her little “comments”/coos keeps me smiling and keep thanking God for what blessings he has given me in the lives of my children.
Our home is not quiet. My life is not quiet.
but it is a “joyful noise”. and i love it.

Love this!! What a great perspective and thoughts on how babies = joyful noise. We are expecting our first one in about 15 weeks… So our quiet shall transition to a joyful (ish) noise.
So glad I found you via FMF! Blessings!

Paula, so nice to meet you- thanks for visiting and leaving a comment so I could return and see this sweet share! A joyful noise indeed! I used to put my baby girl in the stroller and walk as long as it took for her to fall asleep then with Bible in journal in hand (I would make it to the park closeby) I would sit at the park and have QT! Oh, it is a season…but I cherish the memories of those early days when it was a juggling act trying to get anything done…Have a lovely weekend!

Hi Paula, oh yes, I can definitely see why there is such little quiet in your house these days (and I so relate to the jokes that must be laughed at even though they truly make no sense!). I love your line about a joyful noise!
Awesome post!
