I’m all about fast and easy dinner recipes. This is one of those quick meals that is some what of a staple in our home. We call it “beans and meat” but I think we should come up with a fancier name. It’s something my mother in law taught me shortly after my husband and I got married, and I can’t go a month without making it! I’ve included affiliate links to help you find the ingredients that I’m talking about.
What you need
- 1 pound ground beef
- Ranch Style Beans (The large can)
- Rice
Cook rice according to package directions. While it is cooking, brown the meat, draining the fat. I usually season my with a touch of Tony Chacheres or fajita seasoning. When the meat is done cooking add one large can of ranch style beans and cook until warm.
Serve the beans and meat, over rice. We always use brown rice because it is SO much healthier, and I’ve found that because the beans and meat are so flavorful, even if your crowd is not a fan of brown rice, they probably wont know the difference with this on top. score!
In a real pinch you could even drop the beef part of it and serve some corn or corn bread with the beans and rice instead since corn and beans together make a complete protien! I have done this several times for my family with no complaints, though the beef does make it much tastier.
My hubby and son love this meal, though they are not hard to please, I agree that it is really yum!
Easy, cheap and yummy. doesn’t get much better than that!
