Did you know that you can make super yummy, cheesy, garlic bread from a regular loaf? We never pay for those expensive frozen garlic breads, instead I just make our own garlic toast, and it is so good! It’s such an easy thing to do, and my hubby is always excited when he sees that I’m making it.
What you need:
- 4 slices of bread
- Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 2 Tablespoons butter (softened)
- Garlic Pepper
Place the bread on a baking sheet and spread each slice with softened butter. Sprinkle a good amount of garlic pepper over the buttery bread. The amount you use is dependant upon how garlic-y you want it to be. Add cheese liberally to the top of the breads, being careful that none hangs off the edges. Stick the pan in the oven and broil for 3 or 4 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Enjoy!
Have you ever made your own garlic bread?

I use mozzarella instead of cheddar. And it’s great with parm sprinkled on top, too. Also I use garlic powder instead of garlic pepper, and this is great with leftover hotdog rolls or the heels of loaves of bread that nobody wants to eat otherwise. Sometimes I toast the bread first then spread with toppings and broil – makes the overall piece crispier.

Happy SITS Day! I hope it is an amazing one! :)
When I was a girl, my mom introduced me to making garlic toast – buttered bread (both sides) with garlic salt, celery salt and onion salt on it toasted in the oven at 350 for about 10 to 15 minutes. This has since morphed in my own home into adding Italian seasoning and/or parsley flakes and oregano, Parmesan cheese and other cheeses on occasion. :) Great stuff and definitely an easy family fave! :D

We do this all the time because my kids are addicted to garlic toast! Thanks for sharing at Sweet & Savory Saturdays #30.
