This has been a great year! There have been lots of parenting tips shared, and when Kelly from the Idealist Mom decided to put together a list of the most popular parenting tips of the year, I was privileged to have one of mine included!
If we look at what have been the top parenting tips of the year here on Beauty through Imperfection, it would be the following.
How to prevent tantrums – This seems almost impossible, but this one simple trick really did work for our family! My son is quite the wild-one and did about three times more than his fair-share of tantrums when he was younger. When I figured out this trick it changed our lives. No really, it did. My sanity survived because of it! Read the tip here.
8 Ways to help your toddler adjust to the new baby – This is the post that inspired the book! That transition time with a toddler and a new baby is no joke. Probably one of the most stressful times of a mama’s life, but this one will help get you through and help your first baby get used to being the big kid. Read it here.
Home Teething Remedies – Teething is one of the hardest times of a baby’s life! And a mom’s too. Sometimes it feels like there is nothing that can be done to help. This is a list of some things you can do to help relieve baby’s pain. The best part is, you probably already have most of them on hand at home! Read it here.
Easy ways to organize toys – The toy room is always a challenge. Simply because you must find homes for all the toys and homes that the kids can figure out and do themselves down the road. While they aren’t great at it, the goal is always for the kids to at least know how to clean up their toys (even if they need a bit of help). These are some great tips that will get your playroom (or kid’s room) off to a great and more organized start this year! Read the tips.
The best board games for 3 & 4 year olds – Our family LOVES playing games, so we started our kids young. The little ones would sit still for board games before they would sit through an entire tv show! We love the family bonding time, and the fact that the kids can learn through playing games as well. This list shares some of our absolute favorites for little ones (you know, the kid games that WON’T drive you crazy!)
No more family dinners – I have been flamed more than a few times for this one, but not having dinner together as a family has helped us grow so much closer together! It’s the perfect thing for this stage of life. Here’s why.
Closet toys – This is basically magic. If you thought it was impossible for a toddler to sit still (ever), join the club. But I figured out a way, and it’s ridiculously easy. Closet toys. They are magic for moms and you need to start doing it like, yesterday.
No stress potty training – Remember that strong willed darling son of mine? Yeah, potty training him in a weekend just wasn’t going to happen. So I decided to wing it and ended up coming up with this wonderful and stress-free method. I highly recommend it for strong willed little ones or for moms who don’t have much help.
Toddler chores – It’s never too young to start on chores, right? I’m a firm believer in making housework fun, even for the little ones! I made this list of fun things around the house that the littlest kiddos can help out with. My kids LOVE doing these!!! (shhh no one tell them they aren’t supposed to like chores!)
Falling down – I let my toddler fall. Yep, I know it sounds terrible, but it’s been amazing for their development. They have so much confidence and they know their boundaries. It’s actually helped them stay safe! Figure out why I let my toddlers fall, here.
Did you read any of these parenting tips this year? What is the best tip you’ve heard or come up with yourself this year? I’d love to hear them!!! Share in the comments.
