Does any one else have a hard time buying gifts for their parents or in-laws? It’s tough trying to choose a gift for people who already seem to have everything. But the one thing I’ve found that grandparents can’t get enough of, is anything having to do with the grandkids.
From the moment the kids are born it begins, it’s deep and it’s wonderful and honestly, it makes Christmas a whole lot easier!
Here are the best Christmas gift ideas for grandma and grandpa
Photo calendars – Every month you flip to a new photo of the grandkids. I’ve been making these for my in-laws every year for awhile now. They ask for it every year now, so they can have pictures of the kids hanging in their office.
For grandparents that live far away, a memory book is a great way to go. We made one of these for my great grandmother and she raved about it. It’s full of photographs, art done by the kids and stories about what they’ve been doing lately. It takes very little crafting ability too, which is a huge win for me, one of the least crafty people ever.
It’s simple, but if you have older kids, have them each write a letter to grandma and grandpa telling them about their favorite memories together. Sometimes the littlest things can mean the most!
This year, we were introduced to MyMMs.com and realized what fun gifts you can make, right there on the site! These make the PERFECT gift for grandma and grandpa, because you can put pictures of the grandkids, right there on the candies!
It would be neat for them to keep around their office, or even in the candy bowl in their living room. If they don’t have a candy bowl, you can even get one for them. We opted for a candy dispenser, which we were able to order right along with our My M&Ms order!
Personally, I love that the combine, pictures, memories AND candy. Basically a perfect match! You can choose colors, sayings and customize them as much or as little as you wish. I loved this MY M&M’S Gender Reveal Video, where a mom used them to tell her husband (who was currently deployed) the gender of their baby! So sweet. They’ve been used at baby showers too (see the MyMMs.com Baby Idea Gallery). The possibilities are endless!
Finally, if your child’s grandparents live nearby, give them an experience. Tickets to go to the zoo together with your family, or even just a day at the park. Time means more than anything, and it’s sometimes the hardest thing to give! In fact, you could meet them at the part and surprise them with their My M&Ms to take home!
What are you giving to the grandparents this year? Share in the comments! – Do you have a special story of a time when you used My M&Ms? I’d love to hear that too! I was so impressed with how beautifully everything turned out and how well you could see the picture! The colors and image looked exactly as I was expecting it to, which is so rare when you order anything online!
